Lecturer in Sociology

Open University – Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences (FASS)

Temporary contract for 24 months

We are recruiting an enthusiastic Lecturer in Sociology to join a team of academics within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The person appointed will join a team working to design exciting new curriculum and research projects that address the scope and consequences of digital change. You will have an innovative approach to teaching sociology and be interested in developing teaching and assessment strategies using a wide range of audio, visual, text and online assets. You will also contribute to the maintenance of our existing curriculum and new curriculum developments at the undergraduate level.

You must have a doctorate in sociology or a closely related field and an excellent understanding of issues in contemporary sociology. You must be competent in digital sociology or the sociology of the digital. You will also be an active researcher who will contribute to the Department’s profile and next REF submission.
