This from Rebecca Cassidy at Goldsmiths:

I’m hosting a British Academy Early Career Event at Goldsmiths, in the Orangery, on July 11th, between 09.45 and 5ish.

We will focus on areas of ‘dangerous consumption’ including gambling, drugs, tobacco, alcohol and sex, but everyone interested in constructing inquiries in difficult fields is very welcome.

Speakers include

Jenny Hatchard, Department for Health, Bath University

Stephanie O’Neil, Institute of Health and Society, Newcastle University

Trine Mygind Korsby, Department of Anthropology, University of Copenhagen

Karen Evans-Reeves, Department for Health, Bath University

Farah Jamal, Institute for Health & Human Development, University of East London

Steve Sharman, Department of Psychology, Cambridge University

A good lunch will be provided and there will be plenty of time to network during the day. Financial assistance will be made available to those who need it on a first come, first served basis. Participation is free, but places are limited, so please book as soon as possible with Sam Kelly (sam.kelly@gold.ac.uk). Please send any other questions to Rebecca Cassidy (r.cassidy@gold.ac.uk)

Please circulate this invitation around your own networks.
