Antonios Kaniadakis is a Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London, School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science. He was trained as a Sociologist and earned a PhD in Science, Technology and Innovation Studies from Edinburgh University. His research combines insights from multiple disciplines (economic sociology, information systems, management, innovation studies) and focuses on exploring the role of Information and Communication Technologies in the making of financial markets. More recently he developed a new interest in novel interdisciplinary theorisations of social media and in the empirical exploration of the mechanisms that drive online agency, participation and user innovation.
