Daniel Seabra Lopes is an anthropologist and an ethnographer. He received a PhD from the New University of Lisbon and is currently a research fellow at the Research Centre for Economic and Organizational Sociology (SOCIUS / School of Economics and Management, Universidade Técnica de Lisboa). He has been developing an ethnographic research on credit and banking since 2008, paying special attention to the connections between retail markets operating at a national scale and the global financial markets. He is currently preparing a new research on financial supervision. A number of his articles have been published in peer-reviewed journals, namely Visual Anthropology, Anthropological Quarterly, European Societies, Social Anthropology and Economy and Society.
